One Divine Moment ...

So, I felt a press to write today and the topic that came to mind is divine moments – specifically the difference that one divine moment makes.

I had a meeting with a publisher this week and, although I cannot go into details, it was a great meeting. It was a moment, one divine moment, where you move one step closer to the manifestation of the dreams and desires and destiny that God has planted in your heart.

All I could say was, ‘Wow!’
And, of course, ‘Thank You’, ‘Praise You’ and ‘Hallelujah’

I thought about the many people in the bible who have been called to wait on the LORD, to endure the process of promise:
• Hannah waiting for Samuel
• Zacharias and Elizabeth waiting for John the Baptist
• Rahab waiting to be rescued
• Joseph waiting for the dream to manifest
• David waiting for the throne
• Esther waiting for words of deliverance from the king
• Peter waiting for God’s hand to move in the prison
• Jonah waiting to be released from his watery pit
• Israel waiting to occupy their promised land

What did that one divine moment feel like? What did they do the next day? How did they feel? There are so many wonderful tales in the Old and New Testaments.

Yet there are so many dreams TODAY that are still in the incubation process –
There are so many dreamers at various stages in their journey

So the press to write today was simply to say –
Keep Hoping, Keep Believing, Keep Trusting!

Against all hope – acknowledging but not valuing the aged bodies of he and his wife – Abraham esteemed God’s promise greater than what he saw and Abraham hoped in God. (Romans 4:18)

Now, you may say, 'I have been hoping and believing for a long time’.
You are in good company!

I say that not to discount what you feel but to affirm that your longsuffering may be an indication that the process is working exactly as it should.

Understandably, no one desires to just hope forever – and we cannot. The Word says in Romans 4:18 NKJV, ‘Hope deferred makes the heart sick but when the desire is fulfilled, it is a tree of life.’ The Message Version of that same verse says, ‘Unrelenting disappointment leaves you heartsick, but a sudden good break can turn life around.’

And the beautiful thing is this:
When that one divine moment occurs – the moment that you have been praying and hoping for - it gives life and hope to you AND others.

There will be times when times when you feel like you simply do not have the strength to hold onto faith. But, take comfort because that is when faith holds onto you. It tells you to hope again, to trust again, to believe again and to move forward again. Then you rise and face another day ... with God ... in victory!

You keep moving forward with the understanding that nothing comes your way without the Father’s knowledge or permission. Luke 22:31-32 Message Version records these words from Jesus, ‘Simon, stay on your toes. Satan has tried his best to separate all of you from Me, like chaff from wheat. Simon, I've prayed for you in particular that you not give in or give out. When you have come through the time of testing, turn to your companions and give them a fresh start.’

He was letting him know that despite challenges, he would come out on the other side – not because of his skill, not because of his strength, but because of who was on his side, because Jesus prayed for him that his faith would not fail.

He offers that prayer to each of us today. He wants you to know that He has His hands on you. He will see you through. Just keep trusting Him and talking to Him – even if the journey feels too long. Having done all you can to stand, keep right on standing (Eph. 6:13).

‘Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God's Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don't know how or what to pray, it doesn't matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.’ Romans 8:26 MSG

Dream the Dream, Pursue the Dream, Stay in the Process, Walk by Faith, Keep on Hoping!

‘He who has begun a good work in you will complete it …’ Philippians 1:6 NKJV

‘God is not a man, that he should lie, Neither the son of man, that he should repent: Hath he said, and will he not do it? Or hath he spoken, and will he not make it good?’ Numbers 23:19 ASV

‘The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise …’ II Peter 3:9 NKJV

What He said He would do, He does –
And He does it in one divine moment

Understand, however, that while the one divine moment can be refreshing, exciting and destiny changing – it may not immediately change the experience of your circumstances.

For all intents and purposes, my life is the same now as it was before that one divine moment:
- I am still unemployed
- I still need to manage kids and household responsibilities
- My back still aches from my tumble down the stairs a few weeks ago

But, the change is this –
There is a light at the end of this tunnel, and it is not that of an oncoming train

It is the dawning of a new day, a brand new season!
- Same journey, different stretch
- Same God, different day
- Still in the process, now with increased intensity and acceleration

Praise God!
Whether you have been waiting for 3 days or 30 years there is a moment –
One divinely appointed moment that truly changes things,
And it is on its way!

Dear God,

I pray for every person reading this entry. Breathe on them afresh with the overwhelming power and presence of Your Spirit. For those who have abandoned the desires that You planted in their hearts, ignite a flame which causes old dreams and longings to blaze again. For those who are actively pursuing your plans and purpose, gird them with strength, surround them with spiritual cheerleaders who will expand and facilitate the dream that you have planted on the inside of them. For those that are within leadership within Your Kingdom, cause a supernatural unity to well up universally. Surround these leaders with godly people who will make deposits into their lives and not just withdrawals. Grant them an ability to hear what you are saying. May we all hunger for and devour Your Word and may we communicate to those who are growing in grace as well as to those who are lost in darkness. May we do all things in love, focused on Your Kingdom and building Your name recognition throughout the world – that every knee will bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is LORD!

In The Matchless Name of Jesus I Pray … Amen!
