'TIS THE SEASON: LOVE

Good Morning!

The Christmas Countdown has begun …

Hard to believe it is just ten short days until CHRISTMAS

Soon the joy and peace and LOVE of the season will be fading

Now – I am not stating that the LOVE should fade

It, the love of the season, most definitely should not fade

Yet – it inevitably does end up diminishing a bit from the lead up to CHRISTMAS

                That is, it diminishes in the hearts of men

HOWEVER –

The Joy, Peace and LOVE of CHRISTMAS

Never fades for the One who made it all possible

When talking about love between a man and a woman,

My pastor always says, ‘the proof is in the pursuit’.

This is so very true – we pursue the things we are passionate about,

the things we LOVE

This is why the LORD God Almighty was [and is] so intentional in His pursuit of us

From the first stroll through the garden after the fall,

Asking Adam, ‘Where art thou?’

To the blazing wonder atop Mt. Sinai, where the LORD sent His words to His people;

To all the kings, prophets, priests and everyday men and women

Men and woman – just like you and I

The LORD has never stopped demonstrating HIS LOVE

And all this pursuit did not end in the Old Testament

For we open up the New Testament and the first thing we see is –

The introduction of His Greatest LOVE – JESUS

One of the most well-known verses in the Bible is John 3:16

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son –

that whosoever should believe in Him would not perish but have

EVERLASTING LIFE”

He did it all so that we could experience EVERLASTING LIFE –

Basking in the glory, peace and refuge of HIS EVERLASTING LOVE
